Dickinson, ND- The Mayville State Comets avoid elimination by defeating the number eight seed Presentation Saints in seven innings.

How It Happened:
The Comets would break out the scoring right away in the top of the first inning to take a 6-0 lead. This was lead by back to back to back doubles from Lundmark, LaRocque, and McCorrister. Senden would end the scoring in the first with a sacrifice fly to right scoring Ferrera.
The Saints would get one run in the bottom of the third to make the score 7-1. But Mayville State would go on to score ten unanswered runs in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings to stretch their lead out to 17-1. This would be lead by a Marquez single in the top of the 5th which would score both Lundmark and McCorrister. 
Presentation would score three runs in the top of the 7th to cut the Comet lead to 17-4 but Mayville State holds on in seven innings to advance to the next elimination round.

The Mayville State Comets baseball team will play tomorrow (Sunday May 7th) at 1 p.m. and will face the loser of number two seed Dakota State and number three seed Waldorf.
