Box Score Moorhead, Minn. - Mayville State Comets Volleyball headed to Concordia College Tuesday for a non-conference match up in which the Comets took three straight sets from the Cobbers.

"This win showed that our team is resilient. We were able to bounce back after this past weekend to get focused going into our conference matches this coming weekend," said head coach Katie Aasen.

Set 1 W (25-21)

Set one was back and forth as the Comets and Cobbers would tie it up seven times throughout the set.

Samantha Passa lead the team in set one, recording 4 kills and was able to put things away at the end to give the Comets a 25-21 win.

Set 2 W (25-21)

Set two was very similar to set one with four tied scores and two different lead changes.

At one point, the Cobbers were ahead 11-5, but the Comets managed to score four in a row from back to by kills by Kaitlyn Sand and Samantha Passa to cut their deficit to 2.

Late in the set, the Cobbers led 20-14 when the Comets rattled off five points in a row to come within one.

The Cobbers would reach 21, but that's all they would score as the Comets would exploded with six straight points to take the game 25-21.

Set 3 W (25-21)

The Cobbers looked to stay alive in set three, but it would be all Comets.

Mayville State started set three off with a 5-0 run. The closest the Cobbers would get from here on out was five points.

The Comets largest lead of the night was when they led by nine late in set, 23-14. 

There were zero lead changes and zero ties in set three, as the Comets would take the sweep on the road.

The Comets will hit the road for the next three weeks, first stopping in Nebraska to take on #8 Bellevue this Friday. They will then head to take on (RV) Dakota State on Saturday.

"These net couple weeks we will be a grind as we are on the road for three weeks straight," said Aasen. "We are continuing to work on making adjustments that will play to the strengths of each individual athlete to see more team success."
