Mayville, N.D. - The Mayville State Comets Football team returned to Jerome Berg Field Saturday afternoon in a match up with the Jamestown Jimmies.
The Comets beat the Jimmies earlier in the season on the road, 26-20.
In today's back and forth game, the Jimmies were able to snag the win, splitting the series 1-1 in conference play.
"I thought our defense played really well, I thought we played at a high level at times. But we gave up a third and eleven. You can't do that and expect to win football games," said head coach
Rocky Larson. "We also have to have more than 122 offensive yards to win a college football game. We have to be better on offense, I don't care who we play."

"Our goal is to finish .500. It's only been done twice here in this century. We can still go out and do that but we are going to have to play a lot better," added Larson.
The Comets hit the road next weekend to take on Valley City State. The Comets beat the Vikings 16-10 back in September at home.Â
