The teams traded baskets in the first few minutes of the second half. A Juan Carlos Canahuate jumped tied the game at 35 at the 14 minute mark. The Blue Hawks then scored eleven straight points in a four minute stretch to lead 46-35.

Another 7-0 run by Dickinson made the score 58-43 with four and a half minutes remaining. The Blue Hawks converted 10 of 11 free throws down the stretch to prevent a last minute comeback to win 71-59.
