Volleyball goes 1-3 at Siouxland Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Sioux City, Iowa - After nearly two weeks off, Comet Volleyball hit the road to Sioux City, Iowa last weekend where they played four GPAC opponents.

On day one, the Comets split taking their first game from Briar Cliff but then falling to a rematch with Dordt in five sets. On their second day, the fell to Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside.

Coach Aasen's Notes:
- Back row was solid and kept us in matches until we could get our offense clicking
- Middles had some game changing plays, blocking and offensively 
- Momentum is everything in volleyball, and when you don't capitalize on those turning point plays, winning becomes no minor feat

"What this weekend's record didn't show is the many success we had as a team and as individuals," said head coach Katie Aasen. " It could play a huge role in reaching the pinnacle of our season, and we are eager for the things we get to bring to practice the next couple weeks."

"Playing Dordt the second time, we were a completely different team. Our game and our team chemistry has grown a lot in just two weeks which is promising moving forward!" added Aasen.

The Comets move to 2-4 on the season and will have a little over a week off before they head to the Beaver Classic hosted by Minot State September 13th. First home match is September 19th against Dickinson State University.

On Thursday, September 5th, Comet Volleyball will host their 2nd annual Meet the Mets and intrasquad scrimmage.
