Men's Basketball Season Comes to an end Wednesday Night

Mayville, N.D. - The Mayville State Comets Men's Basketball team hosted the Dakota State Trojans for the first round of the NSAA postseason tournament.

The Comets finished third in the North Star regular season conference standings with an overall record of 18-10 and a conference record of 9-6. The Trojans rounded out their season at 4-11 in conference play and 11-16 overall, earning them the sixth seed in the tournament.

In an intense back and forth battle, the Comets would be knotted with the Trojans at half, but Dakota State would pull away in the final 10 minutes of the game, ending Mayville State's 2024-25 run after a final score of 86-75.

On the night, Mayville State shot 45.8% going 27-59 from the field. They drained 10 of 24 shots behind the arc and went 11-14 at the line. Another senior, J.J. White, Jr., followed close behind with 15 points, he went 5-14 from behind the arc.
