    Assistant Baseball Coach
This is Roy's first year coaching at the college ranks and joined the Comet staff in August 2022. After a 6 year playing career that included JUCO, NCAA D2, and NCAA D1, he hung up his cleats and became an assistant coach this past summer with the Edenton Steamers of the Premier Collegiate League. The Steamers won the PCL championship helped by a 21-5 home record. 
 
As a player, Roy was an infielder who consistently hit above average and with power. He played 2 years at Pratt Community College earning Honourable Mention KJCCC in 2018 as a 1st baseman, hitting .360 with 10 hrs and 48 RBI.  He earned his Associates in General Studies from Pratt before moving on to NCAA D2 in New Mexico playing under Coaches Shannon Hunt and Mike Marshall.
 
His two years at NMHU were straddled around the COVID season and he started at 2nd base for the Cowboys, batting a combined .320 with 7 HRs and 29 RBI. His final stop took him to Morehead, Ky where he played for Coach Mik Aoki at Morehead State University. He shared playing time at 2nd base with all-conference, Nick Gooden, and managed a respectable .236 average with 3 HRs and 21 RBI at the NCAA D1 level. The Eagles lost in the Conference tournament ending Roy's playing career with over 150 games played, 600 ABs, 20 HR, and 105 RBI.
 
Roy is hoping to bring his passion for the game and his experience to Mayville to help the next generation of ballplayers reach their full potential. After earning his B.A. in Health Education with a minor in Sociology from NMHU, he has started working on his master’s which he will do remotely while coaching. Originally, from Northern Ontario, Canada, Roy has played baseball in almost every Canadian province and well over half the states.
