Dalton Kleinschmidt

Dalton Kleinschmidt enters his third season as assistant coach for the Comets. His responsibilities for the Comets are Alumni Communications, Fundraising, Graphic Design, and Social Media Manager.
 
During his first two seasons as assistant coach, he was a part of the three straight Conference Tournament Championships and three National Tournament Appearances. Kleinschmidt has been on the coaching staff when Gorg Alhag and Max Cooper earned NAIA All-American status.
 
Before Mayville State, Kleinschmidt coached at Bethany Lutheran College for two seasons. During his time with the Vikings, they had a record of 37-18 and recorded their first conference championship in program history. The Vikings had four players that were named All-Conference and one player that was Player of the Year in the UMAC.
 
Kleinschmidt graduated and played basketball at Bethany Lutheran College from 2013-15. During the 2014-15 season he was named team captain for his leadership qualities. He graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2015 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education from Upper Iowa University.
 
Kleinschmidt, the Morgan Minnesota native, is also the Housing Director on campus where he oversees all campus living situations for students. He also is the founder and director of the Kleinschmidt Basketball Kamp.
