Jacob Leier returns to Mayville State in 2021 as an assistant coach for the Men’s Basketball team. His duties include recruiting, offensive scheme, game planning, and strength and conditioning.
Leier spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division II Minnesota State University Mankato. During his time there, the Mavericks went 27-22, NSIC Tournament Runner-up, and five players were named NSIC All-Conference. He graduated from Mankato in 2021 with an M.S. in Educational Leadership.
Before Mankato, Leier spent his undergraduate years as a Comet from 2015-19 where he played for two seasons and became a student assistant for his last two years. During his undergraduate years as a coach, he had a 38-20 record, 2-time NSAA Tournament Champion, 2-time National Tournament Qualifier, Two NSAA All-Conference Players, and One NAIA All-American.
Jacob graduated from Mayville State in 2019 with a double major in Chemistry and Math Education with a minor in Sports Management. Leier is from Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
