Biography

Before MSU:

Damaris Fields joins the program as a freshman from Jefferson High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he was a standout two-sport athlete in football and basketball. On the football field, Fields earned First Team All-State honors as a defensive back in 2024. He was a two-time First Team All-Metro Conference selection and was named his team's Defensive MVP. As a sophomore Fields was primarily a punt returner and saw some time at Cornerback during the State Championship season in 2022.

In basketball, Fields was a full-time starting point guard, helping lead his team to back-to-back 5th-place finishes at the South Dakota State Tournament his junior and senior years. He earned All-Metro honors and was voted team MVP as a senior, averaging 10.8 points per game, including a season-high 23-point performance in a win over eventual state champion Brandon Valley.

A dedicated student, Fields was a member of the National Honor Society and made the honor roll every year, graduating with a 3.85 GPA. He plans to major in Sports Management.

He is the son of Liz and Andre Fields and has one sister, Shaleah, and one brother, Amari. His father, Andre, played football at the University of South Dakota and served as the Head Coach of the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
