Originally from Bakersfield, California, Ayana "AJ" Lopez comes to Mayville State from Coalinga College in Coalinga, California. She was a two year starter for the Falcons, primarily playing both 1B & 3B. She was named 1st Team All-Conference in the 2025 season & 2nd Team in 2024. She was also a 2 time NFCA All America Scholar Athlete & graduated with her AA in psychology in the spring of 2025.

2025 (As a Falcon): Started 35 games played by the Falcons. She posted a .317 batting average, putting up 32 hits in 101 at-bats. She had 10 doubles, 21 RBIs and scored 23 runs. She was walked 14 times, was 5-5 in stolen bases and struck out just 3 times all season. Defensively at third base, she recorded 46 put outs and had 44 assists producing a fielding % of .900. She also turned 3 double plays. AJ was a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, CCCAA Academic All-State, Second Team All-Conference (3B).

2024 (As a Falcon): AJ was a NFCA All America Scholar and was Second Team All-Confernce (1B). She was named 2024 Female Student Athlete of the Year at Coalinga College and was on the Honor Roll. 

She is a 2023 graduate of Centennial HS where she played varsity softball for 3 years. She was named MVP twice, Best Offensive Player twice, was named Co-Best Offensive Player once and was a First Team All-League Infielder. She played travel ball for the Bakersfield Braves.

She is the daughter of Monica & Raymond Lopez and has one brother, Raidyn. She plans to study applied psychology at MSU.
