As a Comet:
2024: Started in 36 of 42 games played. She primarily played in right field, producing 34 put-outs, and 3 assists for the season. Offensively, she had 107 at-bats, posting a .234 batting average, racking up 25 hits, 3 doubles, and 2 triples. She scored 13 times and had 11 RBIs. McGough also had 8 appearances on the mound, pitching a total of 8 innings. She had 4 strikeouts. McGough had a season-high against Valley City State University, where she racked up 3 put-outs. Academically, McGough made the Dean’s List.

Before MSU:
McGough attended West Fargo Sheyenne (formerly attended Valley City High School) and is from Horace, ND. She was part of the EDC softball championship team in 2021. Autumn was a member of the Honors Society and received Academic Honors at both of her high schools. She made the Dean's List for Dual Credit at VCSU and NDSCS. Additionally, Autumn contributed to raising awareness for mental health through the Mental Health Club at Sheyenne.
She is the daughter of Jill and Nathan McGough.
