Jordan Olson

Jordan Olson enters her 2nd season as head of the Comets Softball team for the 2024-25 season.

During Olson's first year with the Comets (2023-24), the program doubled their wins from the 2023 season and they finished fourth in the NSAA conference. 

In 2024, under Olson, there were two First Team All-Conference members (Megan Elliott & Lindsey Tulla), one Second Team All-Conference (Emily Haines), New Comer of the Year (Megan Elliott), Freshman of the Year (Lindsey Tulla) and a Gold Glove recipient at Firstbase (Megan Elliott).

Previously, Olson was the head softball coach at Doane University in Crete, Neb. since 2020 where she racked up her 100th win as a head coach and took the team from ninth to fourth in the GPAC in 2021.

In addition to serving as head softball coach, she was a faculty member teaching health sciences and physical education courses. She was also a board member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and board member and co-founder of Doane Women’s Athletic Council.

Olson was a graduate assistant and assistant coach at Doane University from 2013-2016. Olson's main job was strength & conditioning, outfielders, slappers, social media and recruiting. Their coaching staff was named the 2016 Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. They made back to back national tournament appearances in 2015 & 2016, winning a GPAC Conference Tournament Championship in 2015. 

Olson took on her first head coaching role in 2016 at Divsion II Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.V. She took the Senators to their first ever conference tournament championship game where they fell to the number one team in 2017.

Olson earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Education from Doane University in 2016. She is a 2012 graduate of Mayville State University who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education with minors in coaching and adaptive physical education where she played outfield for the Comets.

Olson is also the head of SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) and is Mayville State University's Sports Information Director.
