Coach Melendo is starting her third year as assistant softball coach, Nina is in charge of hitting, defense, recruiting, and camps for the Comets.
Before she started her coaching career she played four seasons in a Comet uniform from 2014-17. During her four year career, she was a 3-time All-Conference Player, NSAA Conference Player of the Year, NSAA Player of the Week. She finished her career with a .366 batting average, 34 doubles, 14 home runs, and 106 runs batted in.
Nina graduated from Mayville State in 2017 with a Bacholors in Sports Management. Coach Melendo is also working in the office of recruitment and outreach at Mayville State
Melendo resides in Mayville with her husband Jordan, daughter Juliette, and two dogs Lola and Ramsay
