As a Comet:
2024: Played in 25 games. She was primarily a pinch runner, scoring 7 times. Olson had 2 appearances on the mound, pitching a total of 1.1 innings. She faced 11 batters.

Before MSU:
Olson attended Barnesville High School in Barnesville, Minnesota. She earned a letter in academics. In band, she was an officer and Student of the Month in November 2021 and January 2023. She also received a Sub-Section 6A Solo-Ensemble Superior Rating. Kailey was part of the volleyball team that won the Section/Conference Championship. In softball, during the 2023 season, she had the best batting average on the team, the most strikeouts pitched in a season, and the most wins as a pitcher. She was also a member of the Heart O’Lakes All-Conference team and the MSHSL Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-Section Softball Team.
She is the daughter of Chris and Stacy Olson.
