As a Comet:
2025: Named Second Team All-Conference in the NSAA. Started in 45 of 46 games played. On the mound, Mathiowetz was the Comets primary ace, starting 20 games and making 23 appearances. She pitched 98.1 innings for the Comets with a 6.05 ERA. She racked up 73 strike outs. If she wasn't on the mound, Mathiowetz played left field for the Comets where she had 68 put outs, posting a .939 fielding %. Offensively, Mathiowetz had a .261 batting average, she had 119 at-bats, putting up 31 hits. She had 3 doubles and 1 triple, crossed the plate 21 times and had 10 RBIs. She was walked 10 times and hit 3. She was 11-14 on stolen bases.

2024: Started 5 of 25 games played. On the mound, Mathiowetz started in 3 of 17 games, pitching 37 innings for the season. She had a 5.11 ERA, facing 184 batters, with 21 strikeouts. She totaled 2 wins and no losses for the season. Offensively, she scored 1 run and had 2 stolen bases. Defensively, she also played in the outfield, contributing 3 put-outs, and 4 assists.
Mathiowetz had a season-high against Dordt University, where she racked up her first collegiate start, first collegiate full game, and first collegiate win on the mound in one game. She faced 27 batters, and struck out 5, holding the Dordt offense to 1 run. Academically, Mathiowetz made the Dean’s List.

Before MSU:
Mathiowetz attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. In 2023, her team was the Tomahawk Conference Champions. Mathiowetz was named the Tomahawk Conference Softball Player of the Year in 2023. She was also the All-Journal Softball Player of the Year (2023) and made the First Team All-State. Academically, Lacey was an A-Honor Roll student from 2019 to 2023 and graduated as a Co-Salutatorian.

She is the daughter of Scott and Kayla (Helget) Mathiowetz, and she has three siblings: Tyler, Taylor, and Darrin.
