David Moe

David Moe is entering his tenth season as an assistant women's basketball coach at Mayville State University.

Coach Moe's primary responsibilites include recruiting coordinator, opponent scouting and game preparation, skill development with perimter players, and summer camps.

The Comets are coming off another successful season, as they finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 18-8. That is the fourth consecutive season that Mayville State has finished with a winning record. The Comets have an overall record of 77-30 during this four year stretch. The Comets also won a post-season playoff game for the second year in a row, as they advanced to the NSAA Tournament Semi-finals.

Junior forward, Liza Hoglo, received 1st Team All-Conference honors in the NSAA, averaging 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Freshman post, Andi Gayner, received Second Team All-Conference honors, averaging 16.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. 
Liza Hoglo was also named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American Honorable mention list for Division II women's basketball. 

In 2013-14, Coach Moe helped the women's basketball program to its most succesful season in school history. The Comets finished the season with a record of 25-4 and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the second straight year. The Comets improved on their 2012-13 run by winning their opening round game of the 2013-14 tournament by beating Cornerstone University (Michigan) and advancing to the Sweet 16.

The 2013-14 season was also marked by a North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference championship and tournament championship. The 2013-14 season was the first year of existence for the NSAA and the Comets shared the inaugural regular season championship with the University of Jamestown after going 7-1 in league play. The Comets earned the #1 seed in the conference tournament and went on to capture the tournament championship with a victory over Jamestown in the final round of play. The Mayville State University women's basketball team was a finalist for the North Dakota Women's Team of the Year.

The 2013-14 was also marked by great individual performances and accomplishments by members of the team. For starters, Coach Hutter was named the NSAA Coach of the Year as voted on by league coaches. All-American honors were also earned by a couple of the Comet players. Marcisa McMillan was named a second team NAIA All-American and Hailey Longtin was named an honorable mention NAIA All-American. Marcisa McMillan was selected as the NSAA Most Valuable Player of the Year and named First Team All-Conference. Hailey Longtin also received NSAA First Team All-Conference and Liza Hoglo was named NSAA Second Team All-Conference. Several of the women's basketball players were also selected as NSAA Scholar Athletes including Samantha Heier, Erica Henrikson, Liza Hoglo, Hailey Longtin, Brooke McNary, and Angela Tauer.

In 2012-13, Coach Moe helped guide the Comets to a record of 20-6 and qaulify for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history. This season brought great recognition to the team as well as many of its individuals. Marcisa McMillan was named to the NAIA All-American Second Team. Marcisa McMillan was also named the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Conference Player of the Year and named to the First Team All-Conference. Hailey Longtin was named First Team All-Conference and Sabrina Rude was named Second Team All-Conference.

Dave Moe is originally from Barnesville, MN and graduated from Mayville State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Management. Along with coaching at Mayville State, Dave is also an instructor in the HPER Division. Dave is currently working on his Masters of Science in Coaching Education through Ohio University. Dave lives in Mayville with his wife Sheena and their two daughters Kinsley and Jocey.
