Gareth Hanson returns to the Women’s Basketball program after spending the last four years coaching at Enderlin High School. Hanson was a student coach for the Comets from the 2013-16 season.
During his time at Mayville State, the Comets advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in the 2013-14 season by going 25-4 overall and defeating the University of Jamestown in the Conference Championship. They also defeated #24 Cornerstone University in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament but then were defeated by the College of the Ozarks.
After his time at Mayville State, he was teaching and coaching in Enderlin Public School in Enderlin, North Dakota where he was an assistant boys basketball coach for one season and the head girls’ basketball coach for the past three seasons.
Gareth graduated from Mayville State in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Elementary Education with a minor in Coaching.
