Comet men come up short against Dragons 77-73 at home

Five players scored in double-figures as the Minnesota State University-Moorhead Dragons came to the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse and took one on the road on Friday, November 19, 2010 against the Mayville State University Comet men's basketball team.

Jake Driscoll and Charlie Chapman led the Dragons with 16 and 15 points, respectively. The backcourt played off each other well all night knocking down big shots when the Dragons needed them most.

The big men for the Dragons had good performances in the game as well. Alex Driscoll finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, with two blocked shots. Dennis Williamson put up 14 points and nine rebounds with two blocks as well.

Tarell Clark added 10 points and eight rebounds to round out the five starters in double figures for the Dragons.

Mayville State had a balanced attack offensively as well. Sean Greene came off the bench to score 19 points for the Comet men. Greene was 7-for-13 from the field as he led the team in scoring off the bench.

Ross Aman and Christian Harris each chipped in with 14 points. Aman recorded another double-double with 12 rebounds to lead the team. Harris also grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists, had two steals and recorded one block in the game.

Wiley Jiles was the other Comet in double figures finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals.

The Dragons won the battle on the boards with a 38-28 advantage. They also shot the ball extremely well finishing above 55% from the field for the game.

This game drops the Comet men to 3-1 overall. Their next action is Saturday, November 20th, 2010 in Fargo, North Dakota as they take on the North Dakota State University Bison. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
