MAYVILLE, ND -- Wiley Jiles scored 26 points off the bench in a losing effort against the Valley City State Vikings on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, ND. Jiles was on fire as he went 9-for-13 from the floor including 6-of-9 from the three-point line.

Calvin Kraft paced the Vikings with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Tyler Macomber followed Kraft with 16 points. Mark Klingberg and Aaron Duske each chipped in with 10. The Vikings shot the ball very well in this game shooting 49% as a team.

After Wiley Jiles the Comets got 10 points and 12 rebounds out of Ross Aman. Aman along with David Slezak, Christian Harris, and Dalonte Gibson were playing their final home game for the Comets.

The Comets had a 48-40 lead in the second half but a 10-0 run by VCSU put them back in the game with under four minutes to play. The Comets had a shot to tie the game in the final seconds but it rimmed out and the Vikings hit two free throws to ice the game and take home a 63-58 victory.

It was a sour end to Senior night for the Comets but an entertaining game, nonetheless. The Comets will be on the road on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 to take on Black Hills State University in the first round of the DAC playoffs.
