MSU men's basketball goes 1-1 on the road

The MSU men's basketball team went 1-1 on the road this past weekend in a pair of games against the MN-Morris Cougars and the Lakota College Bravehearts.

The Comets traveled to Morris, MN on Friday, December 7 to play the Cougars for the second time in ten days. The first contest saw the Comets mount a furious comeback in the second half before falling short on a missed last second shot. This past Friday after falling behind in the first half, the Comets were unable to close the gap. Propelled by hot shooting the Cougars were in control for most of the game and ended with a 75-58 victory. Austin Emerson led the Comets in scoring with 15 points shooting 5-10 from the field and 3-6 from the arc. Mike Lindsay chipped in nine points for Mayville State. The Comets shot just 35% from the field and 31% from the three point arc. MN Morris shot 63% from the field and 53% from the arc.

Mayville State men's basketball rebounded with a win on Sunday over the Oglala Lakota College Bravehearts 100-80. The Comets were led by hot shooting from Austin Emerson and Mike Lindsay. Earning his first start of the season, junior guard Andrew Berge added gave the Comets a lift on both ends of the floor.
