Naomi Torgerson was selected to the fourteenth edition of the 2017-18 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Naomi Torgerson – Mayville State – 5'10" – Sophomore – Guard – Anoka, Minn. – Torgerson averaged 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds as Mayville State (N.D.) went 1-1 on the week. She poured in a career-high 32 points on her 11-of-18 shooting from the field, including 5-of-8 from the 3-point arc and converted 5-of-7 free-throws in 94-85 victory over Dakota State (S.D.). She followed that up with twelve points and nine rebounds, despite a 70-63 loss to Bellevue the next day. For the week, Torgerson shot 15-of-29 from the field (51.7 percent), 7-of-16 from the 3-point arc and 7-of-11 from the free-throw line. Congratulations to Naomi on the outstanding week and making everyone at Mayville State very proud!
Mayville State will finish their regular season this weekend with games on the road against Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI on Friday night and will face off against Waldorf in Forest City, IA on Saturday afternoon. The North Star conference postseason tournament begins on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the gyms of the four highest seeds. The winner of the first round games will move on to the 'Final Four' at the top remaining seed, scheduled for Saturday (Feb. 24) with the semifinals games and Sunday (Feb. 25) with the championship game.  The postseason tournament champion will receive the automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
