Mayville, N.D. - Head Women's Basketball Coach, Jenna Bolstad, announced Thursday the hiring of her new assistant coach Emily Mueller (Northern Michigan '22).
"We're excited to welcome Emily Mueller to the Comet family. Her passion for student-athlete development, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for building meaningful relationships make her a great addition to our staff," said Bolstad.
Mueller spent the last season as an assistant coach at Northern Michigan.
For two years prior, Mueller has served as a graduate assistant coach at William Woods University (Fulton, Mo.) while pursuing her Master's degree in Athletic Administration. Mueller earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Health and Physical Education from Northern in December of 2022. Throughout 2022, she served as an intern on the women's basketball coaching staff, along with leading the Marquette Senior High School freshmen team.Â
Mueller played for the Northern Michigan Wildcats from 2018-22 and was the team captain in each of her last two seasons. She played in 91 games throughout her career, totaling 375 points and 341 rebounds. For three years, she was also the Vice President of the NMU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).Â
"I am honored to join the Mayville State Women's Basketball family and excited to help our student-athletes grow, compete and succeed both on and off the court," said Mueller. "I would like to thank Jenna and the hiring committee for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Comet family!"
Mueller will also teach classes in the HPER Department at Mayville State.
