A walk-off left the Comets on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Morningside College on Monday. Morningside trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Kasperbauer singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs to give them the win.

Comets got on the board in the first inning when Jon Pluth singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring Paxton Ketchum. Jared McCorrister would then score in the fifth to give the Comets a 2-0 lead. 

Later, in the bottom of the seventh inning, Morningside tied things up at two when Sam Huska singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Elliot Conover earned the win for the Mustangs. He went one inning, allowing two runs on one hit. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with thomas Johnson, Camden Parks, Colby Seuntjens, and Spencer Wyant all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Quinto Bidon took the loss for the Comets. He went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking one.

Austin Herrington started the game for MSU. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out eight. Aaron Homme started the game for Morningside, he surrendered one run on two hits over two innings, striking out one and walking none. 

Paxton Ketchum went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Comets in hits for the game.
