Comets Sweep the Saints


Comets 6, Saints 1
Mayville State was victorious over Presentation 6-1 in game one on Friday afternoon. The Comets got on the board in the first inning when Jade Ledochowski doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring Amanda Izzo and Shaye Kemball to make things 2-0 in the first.

Mayville State would tack on two more runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth and seventh to build the lead and get the win. 

Annika Seedborg had a great performance in the pitcher's circle for Mayville State. She went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four.

Bibiana Villeda was on the rubber for Presentation. She surrendered six runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Mayville State totaled 11 hits in the game. Ledochowski, Kemball, and Dayna Gutierrez each racked up two hits to lead the way for the Comets. 


Comets 9, Saints 3
Jade Ledochowski kept things going and meant business in game two on Friday, tallying four hits and leading Mayville State to a 9-3 win over Presentation to get the sweep for the day. Ledochowski singled in the second, doubled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh.

Mayville State got on the board in the first inning when Shaye Kemball's sac fly scored Dayna Gutierrez  to make it 1-0. Gutierrez would score again in the third, then Ledochowksi drove in Amanda Izzo and Kemball to make things 4-0. 

Mayville State added three more runs in the fifth inning, then tacked on two more in the top of the seventh for insurance, eventually taking the win 9-3. 

Kemball was in the circle for Mayville State. She surrendered two runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out six and walking none.

Darrian Gibson toed the rubber for Presentation. She surrendered nine runs on ten hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Ledochowski led Mayville State in game two with four hits in four at bats and four RBI.
