MAYVILLE, ND – The 24
th ranked Mayville State men's basketball team is looking towards the post season, as they have locked in the second seed in the North Star Athletic Association post-season tournament, so Friday night will be the time to spotlight a group of seniors that have given much to
Darren Tighe's Comet men's basketball program during their time on campus at Mayville State University.
The Comets are 20-5 overall and 10-3 in conference play coming into Friday night's game against the Presentation College Saints. The Comets and Saints have faced each other once this season—a 96-61 win for the Comets over the Saints in early December.
Two seniors will play their final regular season home game at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse on Friday—
Max Cooper and
Rene Melendez—when the #24 Comets welcome the Saints in the regular season finale.
"We couldn't accomplish what we have this year without these two," Tighe said. "Their leadership, work ethic and loyalty is second to none. They will leave huge shoes to fill next year."
