Zrust scores 1000 career points in victory over Blue Hawks

Mayville, N.D. – Jordan Zrust tallied her 1000 career point on Friday evening in the victory over Dickinson State Blue Hawks 63-60.

How It Happened:
Both teams traded baskets through the first four minutes of the game, and it was tied at nine after Hughes made a layup. The layup was a part of a 6-0 run that gave MSU a four-point lead with 1:51 left in the quarter and the Comets would take a two-point lead heading into the second quarter.
The Comets would extend the lead to six early in the second quarter, off a made layup from Zrust. Dickinson would go on a mini-run in the second quarter and would take a one-point lead with 6:47 left in the half.
Shortly before the half, Dickinson State would extend the lead to six but MSU would cut the lead to two with 48 seconds left in the half and would trial by that same margin heading into halftime.
The Comets would come out of the halftime break with a and would 13-4 run to take a seven-point lead with 5:32 remaining in the third quarter.
Dickinson State would tie the game up with 48 seconds left in the third quarter and Walcker would take the lead back on a layup.
The game was tied at 53 with 6:39 left and would take a two-point lead with 3:43 left in the game. Shortly after, Walcker would drill a 3-pointer and take a 3-point lead.
With the game tied at 60, Zrust made the basket and was fouled and would complete the 3-point play. MSU defense was amazing over the last few minutes to pick up a conference victory.
MSU finished the game shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from the 3-point line, recorded 32 rebounds, 11 assists, and 9 steals.
