Comets sweep Saturday to take 3-out-of-4 against V-Hawks over weekend

La Crosse, Wisc. – The Mayville State University Baseball swept the V-Hawks on Saturday afternoon for there first conference series win since March 19th.

How It Happened: Game One
The Mayville State Comets scored two runs in the third inning for the first runs of the game on a Senden double that scored LaRocque and an error by the V-Hawks that scored McCorrister.
The Comets would add three more runs in the fourth and fifth inning on a Lundmark single in the fourth inning that scored Marquez. Followed by a double from Hughes that scored McCorrister and a Marquez double that scored Hughes to make it 5-0.
The V-Hawks would score four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a one-run game at 5-4. Mayville State would answer in the top of the sixth inning on a LaRocque single that scored Villanueva and a single from Senden that scored McCorrister and LaRocque.
Viterbo would answer back with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead back to two. In the eighth inning, MSU would score two insurance runs on a LaRocque single that scored Lundmark and a Senden sacrifice fly that scored Rocholl. The V-Hawks would score 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning but could not complete the comeback as MSU takes game one by a final score of 12-11.

How It Happened: Game Two
The Mayville State Comets would start the scoring in the third inning on a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Marquez and a two-run home run from Lundmark that scored Villanueva.
The Comets would add one more run in the fourth inning on a Hughes single that scored Senden to make it a 4-0 game. Viterbo would score there only run of the game in the sixth inning on a single to make it a 4-1.
The Comets would score four runs in the top of the seventh inning on a LaRocque single that scored Lawin followed by a single from Senden that scored Lundmark and Villanueva, and a Hughes sacrifice fly that scored LaRocque to push the Comets to a 8-1 victory and sweep on Saturday.
