In the first minutes of the game, Mayville State would allow Science and Arts to take the lead 4-6. The Comets would then battle back with made free throws to end the quarter 12-10. A big second quarter would allow the Comets to take control of the game.
Their largest lead being 12 points from a layup by Mackenzie Hughes making the score 28-16 with 3:04 left in the quarter.
