Minot, N.D. - Mayville State Comets Women's Basketball hit the road Thursday for a non-conference match up with the Minot State Beavers, a Division II program that completes in the NSIC conference.

"It's always nice to get a win over a DII team and nice to beat an in state school," said head coach Ryan Carpenter. "We got off to a hot start and they made some adjustments at halftime that gave us some fits but we did just enough down the stretch to keep it out of reach."
In the first half, the Comets shot 60% from the field and 43% from behind the arc. They led the Beavers 51-36 heading into the halftime break.
The third quarter was quite for both teams as just 18 points were scored between the two teams.

"I thought Kenzie was special tonight. She contributed across the board with five boards, five assists, two steals and a career high 30 points where she had an incredibly efficient 65% shooting night," added Carpenter. "We always have stuff we can improve on like our 18 turnovers, but overall I was happy with how we competed tonight."
