Game Recap: Volleyball |

Comet Volleyball dominates in their home opener Thursday

Mayville, N.D. - Mayville State Comet Volleyball hosted the Dickinson State Blue Hawks in a home and conference opener Thursday night.

In just an hour and fifteen minutes of play, the Comets dominated the Blue Hawks, leading in 6 different categories and getting the sweep in the Lewy Lee.

Set 1: W 25-20

Dickinson Started off strong in set one, leading the Comets 13-10 when Mayville State stormed back with six straight unanswered points. This put the Comets up 16-10, boosting them to take set one, 25-20.

Set 2: W 25-21

There were six different lead changes in set two as the set was evenly matched up down to the wire.

Up 23-19, the Comets looked to close things out but the Blue Hawks battled and scored three points in a row, making the score 23-21.

But, that's as close as it would get after a kill from Kaitlyn Sand and a Blue Hawk attack error would end the game 25-21 Comets.

Set 3: W 25-19

Set three was all Comets as they dominated the entire game.

Dickinson State made a late push but kills by Samantha Passa, Kaitlyn Sand and Abby Cox gave the Comets a 25-19 win and sweep over the Blue Hawks.
