Coach Murphy on Day 1 – "The group was remarkably consistent today, only one double bogey between the five players. The lack of live scoring may have helped us as then each player focused only on their own game."
Nowacki took over on the individual side on Day 2. After 6 straight pars, Nowacki 3 under par on the next seven holes, turning a one shot lead into seven shots. Masen finished with a 68, one shot off the school record. Tickel and Pokrzywinski tied for 3
rd overall with scores of 149, Felchle finished seventh with a 153 and Bjorndahl carded a 154.
The White team shaved 22 strokes off their Day 1 total with
Bryson Harder shooting a 76 followed by Weiers at 79.
"Our last three team rounds have all threatened our school team record, so to be shooting these scores with the lack of being outside really shows how hard the team worked over the winter. There's still opportunities to reduce strokes with putting and chipping, and I know we'll be working hard to sharpen those skills by conference."
The Comets Golf team will have a one day tune-up event at Village Green Thursday before traveling to Phoenix for the Frontier Conference Championships.
