How It Happened:  

The Comets started the game strong. They led with a 15-6 run with 4:52 left in the first quarter. The Bruins then battled back to tie the game up 22-22. The comets recorded 7 defensive rebounds which helped allowed Mayville State to score 6 points off of fast breaks in the first quarter alone.  

In the second quarter, Mayville State led with a 12-2 lead. Another huge defensive quarter for the Comets allowed them to gain a 6-point advantage over the Bruins leaving the score 41-35 to end the second.  

The score would remain close throughout the start of the second half. The Comets would end up sealing the fourth quarter on a 20-12 run. Jordan Zrust earned a double-double in 24 points and 17 rebounds to help them move on to the Championship round of the NSAA Conference Tournament.  

Mayville State finished the game shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from behind the 3-point line, and 81.8 percent from the free throw line, pulling in 35 rebounds and recording 7 steals.
