Game Recap: Volleyball |

Comet VB falls to No. 2 Jamestown

Jamestown, N.D. - Mayville State Unviersity Comet Volleyball faced Jamestown Friday night in their final road game of the regular season.

No. 2 ranked Jamestown sits undefeated overall and leads the North Star conference in standings.

The Jimmies have not lost a set since September 6th and Comet Volleyball has been struggling on the road after their trip to Montana for the NSAA/Frontier Crossover.

Jamestown took the Comets in three sets.

The first set would be the best showing of the night for the Comets as they lost 18-25. Sets two and three would be an offensive struggle as Mayville State fell 13-25 and 8-25.

The North Star conference is no easy road for any volleyball team, as Dakota State is receiving votes in the top 25 poll, Bellevue is nationally ranked 8th and Jamestown 2nd.

"With three regular season conference games left, we are excited to be finally playing in the Lewy Lee again," said head coach Katie Aasen. "Each game is a learning experience, and the girls are continuing to take pieces of each game to learn from moving into the next."

The Comets will finish their final three games at home, first hosting Valley City State on Thursday, October 24th at 7pm.

"As conference and regular season wrap up, we hope to secure a few wins to gain confidence moving into the tournament," added Aasen.
