Comets Cruise Past St. Boniface in Dominant 107-52 Victory

MAYVILLE, N.D. — The Mayville State Comets men's basketball team came out firing at home, building a commanding lead early and cruising to a 106–41 victory over the St. Boniface Les Rouge at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

From the opening tip, Mayville State set the tone. They sprinted out to a 24-42 first-half field goal mark and hit 63.6 % of their three point attempts before halftime, while St. Boniface managed just 6 of 30 shooting.

Senior guard Christian Bowen‑Webb led the charge for Mayville State, finishing with 26 points on 8-18 shooting, including 7-14 from three, while adding 3 assists and 2 steals.

Complementing Bowen-Webb's scoring were key contributions from:

  • Darius Brant: 14 points, and a team high 9 rebounds in 18 minutes. 

  • Ollie Fell: 12 points and 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes of action — his second career double double so far this season. 

  • Noah Brown: Also chipped in with 12 points, going 4-6 overall and drilling 4-5 from deep. 

The Comets' bench also made an impact — they piled up 52 bench points.

Defensively, St. Boniface committed 22 turnovers, which the Comets converted into 35 points off turnovers. The Comets' largest lead stretched to 60 points late in the game.

  • Mayville State shot 52.0% overall, 56.5% from three, and 64.0% from the line. 

  • St. Boniface shot 32.3% overall, 18.8% from three, and 64.3% from the line.
