HAVRE, Mont. — The Mayville State men's basketball team hit the road Friday night, taking on the Montana State University-Northern Lights. The Comets fell 82-61 in Frontier Conference play.
The Comets stayed within striking distance in the opening 20 minutes, heading into the break down by one 36-37. The game would go back and forth in the first 10 minutes of the second half, but the Lights would hit a 10 point lead midway through and never look back.
For the Comets, Darius Brant paced the scoring with 12 points, and Malik Siggers added 10. Despite strong efforts, Mayville State couldn't get enough stops in the second half to mount a comeback.
