Comets sweep Vikings in DAC baseball

The Mayville State University and Valley City State University baseball teams met up on the field on April, 25 in Dakota Athletic Conference action. The Comets continued their winning ways by taking both games from the Vikings.

With the sweep, the Comets take the regular series from the Vikings 4-2.

The first three innings of the opening game produced a scoreless game before each team produced a single run in the fourth.

The Comets took the lead when they added another run in the fifth. While this turned out to be enough for the win, MSU would add four assurance runs in the sixth inning to put the game away by a final of 6-1.

Game 2: Mayville State 7 – Valley City State 4
Game two of the evening played out very similar to game one. The scoreboard remained at 0-0 through the first four inning of the game before VCSU put up two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Comets would answer with two runs of their own in the seventh inning to tie the game. The eighth inning saw the MSU offense really come alive. MSU scored five runs to take the game 7-4.
