Dickinson, N.D. – Mayville State Comets Baseball ended their 2025-26 season on Friday after falling to No. 1 seeded Bellevue & No. 6 seed Bismarck State.
Thursday vs. No. 4 Dakota State W 11-8
- Comets score in the first 4 innings, giving a 6-3 early lead
- Dakota State scores 5 runs in the 7th & 8th to pull head 8-7
- A single, bases loaded walk and a double plate 4 for the Comets in the top of the 9th, putting them ahead 11-8
- Robert Gurney & Kevin Conway each had a home run
- Garret Lundmark went 7 innings, striking out 11
- Antonio Jack closed things up in the final 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits
Thursday vs. No. 1 Bellevue L 1-20
- Bellevue looked to continue its 30+ win streak
- Bruins scored in all 6 innings
- Mayville State struggled to find offense, sprinkling just 5 hits in 7 innings
- The only run scored for the Comets was in the 3rd off a double from Gurney
- 3 Comets saw time on the mound
Friday vs. No. 6 Bismarck State L 6-14
- Things started in BSC's favor as they are able to plate 7 runs in the top of the first
- Comets chip away, scoring 1 run in the third, fifth and 6th
- The Mystics continued to find ways, scoring in the last four innings of the game
- Mayville state plated three runs in the bottom of the 9th, but fell short
- Comets put up 12 hits in the game including 2 homeruns from Kevin Conway
The Comets finish the season at 23-24 and fifth in the Frontier.
