Mayville State's Nick Anderson Selected in MLB Draft

Mayville State University senior pitcher Nick Anderson was selected in the Major League Baseball draft in the 32nd round by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Anderson was named DAC Pitcher of Year to go along with his First Team All-Conference selection in both the DAC and Independent Conferences.

In 60 innings pitched on the season Anderson had an ERA of 1.95 while striking out 70 batters and walking a mere 9 batters. Anderson led the nation in fewest runs allowed giving up only 13 all season.

“This is not only a great day for Nick, but a tremendous day for Mayville State baseball and Mayville State University as a whole,” Assistant Coach Pete Pratt stated. “The true testament of a program starts with its leader in Coach Berry. Mayville State University baseball has over 31 years of greatness and Nick falls in line with roughly 40 other players who have earned an opportunity to play at the next level.”

Mayville State University finished the 2012 campaign with a 34-19 record falling to eventual AII Conference Champion Arizona Christian 6-4 in its final tilt.
