The Comets traveled to Denver to take an A.I.I. conference opponent in Johnson & Wales University on Friday, January 4th. The Comets came out firing taking a commanding 21-8 lead to open up the first half. The Johnson & Wales Wildcats battled back to cut the lead to two 29-27at the end of the first half.
The second half was a back and forth battle. With the score tied 60-60 late in the game the Comets went inside to
Marcisa McMillan who hit a jumper in the lane to put the Comets up two. The Comets came up with a big stop on the ensuing possession, and
Samantha Heier sealed the win with two free throws. The final score was 64-60.
The Comets have now won 8 in a row and is 12-1 on the season. Mayville State was well balanced offensively with 3 girls in double figures.
