Comets on a Nine Game Winning Streak

With two more wins this past weekend against Johnson & Wales University and Northern New Mexico College.  The Comets Women's Basketball Team has won nine games in a row and have improved their overall record to 13-1 on the season.  With a 13-1 record, it is one of the best starts in school history for the Women's Basketball Team
 
Mayville State is in the top ten in numerous statistical categories, as well as having numerous individuals in the top ten in several statistical categories as well.  The Comets lead the country in average assists per game, as they are averaging an astounding 21.5 assists per game.  The Comets are also second in the country in three pointers made per game, as they are averaging 11 made three pointers per game.  Also the Comets are second in the country in points per game, as the Comets are averaging 90.2 points per game.  Mayville State is third in the country in three point shooting percentage, as they are shooting 36.3 % behind the arc.  The Comets are also third in the country in overall field goal percentage, as they are shooting 46.7% on the season from the floor.  The Comets are ninth in the country in total rebounding, as they are averaging 44 rebounds per game.  Finally, the Comets are tenth in the country in total three pointers made, the Comets have made 135 three point baskets on the year to date.  The Comets are also tenth in the country in steals per game, as they average close to 13 steals per game.
 
The Comets also have several individual players in the top ten in several categories as well.  Marcisa McMillan leads the country in field goal percentage.  McMillan is shooting an unbelievable 67.7% from the floor for the season through 14 games.  Sabina Rude is also leading the country in average three pointers made per game, Rude is averaging 4.0 three point baskets per game.  Angela Tauer is tenth in the country in three point shooting percentage, as she is shooting 43.6% on the season from behind the arc. 
 
The Comets will be back in action this weekend, as they will be back home to play Johnson & Wales University on Friday night, game time is set for 5:30 pm.  Then they will take on Northern New Mexico College Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm.  Both games this weekend will be at The Lewy Lee Fieldhouse, on the campus of Mayville State.
