#20 Lady Comets defeat Oglala 95-24

Five players hit double figures in blowout victory.

MAYVILLE, N.D. – The #20 Comet women's basketball team played Oglala Lakota College for the second day in a row Sunday afternoon at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D. MSU defeated the Bravehearts by a final score of 95-24.

The bench production for MSU in this game was evident again as the second unit score 51 points in the game. Sabrina Rude led all scorers with 17 points off the bench for Mayville State. Rude went 6-for-12 from the floor including 5-of-11 from beyond the arch as she continues her hot shooting this season.

Hailey Longtin followed her with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 2-for-3 from the three-point line. Liza Hoglo, Brooke McNary, and Erica Henrikson all scored 11 points for Mayville State as well.

Every Comet that stepped on the floor scored in this one. Marcisa McMillan (8), Angela Tauer (6), Alyssa Blair (6), Kay Laforet (4), Samantha Heier (3), and Missy Kassube (2) rounded out the rest of the Comets production.

MSU controlled the boards in this game with a 51-17 advantage. McMillan had a game-high 17 rebounds, including 12 offensive rebounds.

It was another lop-sided victory for Mayville State as they raced out to a 55-14 halftime advantage. The second half was more of the same as they outscored the Bravehearts 40-10 to end the game with a decisive 95-24 victory.

#20 Mayville State (11-2,0-0) will travel to Grand Forks, ND to take on the University of North Dakota in an exhibition contest on Wednesday, December 18th, 2013 at the Betty Englestad Sioux Center.
