Sabrina Rude has been shooting the lights out so far in 2013-14 and Friday night in Clinton, Iowa she made sure everybody knew. The Junior guard from McVille, ND made 10 three-pointers coming off the bench for the Comets. She is currently shooting 45% from beyond the arch (34-for-76).
MSU built an early lead in this one going into the locker room ahead 47-33 at halftime. The team finished what they started in the second half as they cruised to a 91-72 victory.
Rude led all scorers with 32 points as well as grabbing six rebounds off the bench for Mayville State. She was definitely in a shooting zone as she hit 55% of her three-point shots (10-for-19) and was perfect at the free throw line (2-for-2).
Marcisa McMillan made her return to the line-up and scored 17 points, and had a game-high seven rebounds.
Hailey Longtin also chipped in with 16 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
Liza Hoglo was the final Comet in double figures with 10 points.
Longtin (5-for-6) and Hoglo (6-for-7) each did a great job knocking down free throws for MSU in the game. The Comets shot 86.4% (19-for-22) at the free throw line in the game.
Kay Laforet did a little of everything with five points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in the game. She was also 3-for-4 at the free throw line in the game.
The Comets improved to 7-2 on the year in this contest.
