Hailey Longtin and
Marcisa McMillan combined for 42 points in leading No. 14 Mayville State to a 94-55 victory over Presentation College on Saturday afternoon from the Strode Activity Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Mayville State (21-3, 4-1 North Star Athletic Association) won its second conference game this week after a convincing 22 point defeat of Valley City State on Wednesday. It was the second game in a row Longtin scored 21 for the Comets as she was hitting almost everything she put up.
She finished the game 8-of-9 from the field, including 5-for-5 from three-point land. In addition to her offensive production, she added two steals, two assists, and two rebounds in the game.
McMillan was right on pace with Longtin with a 21 point performance of her own. She finished the game 9-for-13 from the floor, added seven rebounds, four blocks, and one assist. She was also 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
Liza Hoglo was the third Comet player in double figures with 13 points in the game. She was 5-of-8 from the field, had five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Sabrina Rude and
Samantha Heier each chipped in nine points. Rude got all of hers from the three point line going 3-of-6 from there. Heier finished 4-for-8 on field goal attempts and cashed in her only free throw attempt. Rude led the team in assists with five in the game to go along with four rebounds and one steal.
Kay Laforet was next in the scorebook with eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

This one was never close as the Comets raced out to a giant first half lead of 55-22. From there the teams played even as MSU was able to utilize their bench with 10 players playing at least 10 minutes and 12 players getting on the floor during the game.
Up next for Mayville State (21-3, 4-1 NSAA) is the final regular season home game of the 2013-14 season on Wendesday, February 19
th, 2014. The Comets will host Dakota State University, which will be the final time this special group of seniors will suit up for a regular season game in the friendly confines of the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse. It will be senior night for MSU on Wednesday. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
