Mayville State University Comets' baseball took on the Presentation College Saints on Scott Berry Field and shut them down, clinching another two wins by scores of 10-0 and 3-1.
In game one, the Comets dominated the plate with 11 hits, out-hitting the Saints who only had 5 hits the whole game. The Comets took the lead quickly in the 2nd inning and kept the Saints off the board. The Comets rallied 11 hits and were able to drive 10 runs across the plate.
Drake Yoshioka and Stephen Ferntheil were both 2-4 at the dish with Ferentheil having 2 RBIs. Dusty Dove was 2-3 and also had 1 RBI for the Comets.
Game two was a bit of a different story on the scoreboard. It was a 0-0 ball game until the Comets were able to have 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning. The 3 runs to cross the plate were enough to clinch the victory when the Saints were only able to have one run cross the plate in the 8th inning.
Brady Nygaard, Stephen Ferntheil, and Connor McLeod all had one RBI each for the second victory against the Saints.
The Comets ended the day 2-0 which now makes their overall record 6-2 for the season. Mayville State will next travel to Winnipeg, Canada to take on the University of Winnipeg on Sunday, October 4, 2015 for a double header with game times at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
