But, the Mayville State offense got things going for the Comets early on. Brady Nygaard led Mayville State to victory by going 3-for-4 at the plate and driving in runs on a double in the first, a home run in the fourth, and another bomb in the fifth.

The Comets poured on runs in the fifth inning, the offensive onslaught was led by Mason Przybilla, Andrew Hill, Jonathon Pluth, and Zachary Foster driving in runs off a single, triple, a single and a double. Nygaard finished the inning off with his second home run of the game.
