VALLEY CITY, N.D. - Mayville State knocked in eight runs in the fourth inning on their way to an 11-1 victory over Waldorf on Saturday morning. Austin Monson, Spencer Merle, JQ Folena, Andrew Hill, Zachary Foster, and Brady Nygaard all drove in runs in the frame to lead to the Comets for the big inning.

Austin Monson got the inning going with an RBI single that drove in Zachary Foster, Brady Nygaard then tagged up on a sac fly from Spencer Merle to give the Comets a 2-1 lead. Mayville State would tack on six more runs after RBIs from Andrew Hill, Zachary Foster, and a Brady Nygaard double to give them the 8-1 lead. 

The pitching and defense was solid for the Comets from there, Mason Swegarden got the win for Mayville State. He went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out four and walking one.

Chapman took the loss for Waldorf. He allowed six hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out three.

Mayville State racked up 11 hits in the game. Andrew Hill and Obie Wilder each had multiple hits for the Comets. Hill led the MSU with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored in five at bats.
