Mayville, N.D. -  The Mayville State Baseball team plays their final fall game of 2020 Friday night at Valley City. First Pitch is scheduled for 5:30 against the Vikings at Charlie Brown Field.
 
Mayville State enters the final fall game of 2020 with a 4-1 record defeating Jamestown on Sunday by a final score of 7-5. During the fall, the Comets have hit .278 with 50 hits, six doubles, five home runs, 24 runs batted in, and a .365 on base percentage. Payton DeLuca is hitting .583 in 12 at-bats with seven hits, three runs scored, and one double. Adam Senden posting a .368 batting average with seven hits, three home runs, four runs batted in and two walks. Marcus Hughes and Skylar Forst are both hitting .333 during the fall. Forst has tallied one double and one home run with four runs batted in.
 
The Comet pitching staff is allowing a 3.64 earned run average in 47.0 innings, giving up 42 hits, 19 earned runs, striking out 48, and giving up a .240 batting average against. Kenny Stewart in 6.2 innings has allowed one earned run, walking two batters, and striking out 11. Matthew Johnston is allowing a 1.59 earned run average in 11.1 innings pitched giving up two earned runs and striking out 14 batters. Trevor Schreiner picked up the win Sunday going 2.1 innings not allowing a hit while striking out one.
 
The Vikings enter the game with a 2-2 overall record, the last time out the Vikings defeated the Jimmies 9-4. The Comets and Vikings have split the season series so far with the road team winning each contest so far. VCSU is hitting .255 on the year with three triples, six home runs, and 22 runs scored. The pitching staff in 35.0 innings has allowed 15 earned runs, 32 hits, while striking out 44 batters. David Demeter in 16 at-bats is hitting .438 with one double, tow home runs, and four runs batted in. Adam Thompson recording a .400 batting average with four runs scored and four hits. Phil Almanza in 9.0 innings has only allowed one earned run while striking out five hitters.
