Wichita, Kansas - The Mayville State University Comets Softball team headed south to Wichita, Kansas this weekend to play in the Friends University Invitational. This would be the first time the Comets had played outside and on dirt this season.

Autumn McGough hit a grand slam over the right field fence late in the game.
Sunday,
Mackenzie Fuxa got her first start of her career and hit a solo home run in the 6th to tie it up 3-3 against Hastings. "Overall, freshman
Baileigh Momberg has done a phenomenal job being put in a position she probably didn't think she'd be in. Two starts and two wins when we really needed her to step up is great to see for her future. Everytime she is on the mound, she just continues to get better," added Olson. "The home run to tie it up and the walk off to win the game couldn't have come from a more deserving player tonight.
Mackenzie Fuxa has just put her head down and gone to work, and she really stepped up when we needed her. Our future is bright, but we have to grind through the adversity we are facing and keep at it regardless of the outcome."
