VALLEY CITY, N.D. – September, 24, 2013: The Comet volleyball team picked up their third NSAA victory in a row Tuesday night against Valley City State University on the road in a back-and-forth contest. Mayville State took down the Vikings in five sets 24-26, 28-26, 25-11, 21-25, and 15-11.
Mayville State's offense was led by
Remington Werner,
Josette Glatt, and
Cassie Ziemer. Werner led with 17 kills, Glatt followed with 14, and Ziemer finished with 10.
Katie Wangberg, the reigning NSAA Player of the Week, accounted for 40 assists, 11 digs, and seven kills in another solid all-around performance.
Two freshman led the defense in digs in the match.
Paige O'Connor finished with 16 and

The biggest story of this game would've been the 1,000
th kill by the Comets' middle hitter
Josette Glatt. Glatt reached this milestone faster than any player in Mayville State history.
She's also only the second player to reach 1,000 kills during Head Coach
Lindsey Johnson's tenure at Mayville State University.
As a freshman Glatt recorded 294 kills and followed with 494 in her sophomore campaign. With 199 kills so far this season she was 13 shy of the four digit milestone. She finished the match with 14 kills, giving her 1,001 for her career.
The Comets are now riding a three game winning streak as they prepare for a road game against Trinity Bible College on Thursday, September 26
th 2013, before a five game home stand.
